Scarecrows are created by Businesses, Civic Groups, Individuals and Schools.  Remember to vote for your favorite Scarecrow! Votes are $0.25 each and will be collected at Guerin’s Pharmacy, Simple Treasures, Cuppa Manna Cafe, and Wine & Tapas Bar. Voting opens October 15th.

The Junior Service League of Summerville is proud to present the 2021 Ghostwalk!

The ghouls are back for 2021!  The Junior Service League of Summerville’s annual Ghostwalk event will take place on Saturday, October 16 from 6-9pm.

All are invited to dress up in their best costumes and meet in Town Square for an evening of fall family fun!  Ghostwalk features 3 guided tour options – G, PG, & PG-13 to ensure a spooky time for guests of all ages.

In addition to the walking tours, the event will feature entertainment, games, hayrides, and food trucks.

Advance tickets are $5 and $8 the day-of-the-event.  All tickets include access to all games, activities, and 1 guided Ghostwalk tour.  Hayride tickets are sold separately for $4.  The event is FREE for children 3 and under.

Grab your Christmas pajamas and join the Junior Service League of Summerville as we host Jolly Old Saint Nicholas for our 4th annual PJs With Santa!

The fun takes place in Hutchinson Square on December 4th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Children will have the opportunity to whisper their wishes to Santa while parents capture the moment with their cameras.

Tickets include a visit with Santa and a viewing of the Polar Express!  A highly encouraged donation of $5 per person is requested to help support the JSL School Supply Fund for DD2 & DD4.  Everyone attending must have a ticket.

As we celebrate our 33rd year, The Junior Service League of Summerville is pleased to announce our new signature fundraising event, The Derby Party. This annual event is planned for Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the Gardens of Historic Linwood Inn.

This beautiful Victorian Estate tucked away in Downtown Summerville will be the perfect backdrop for this year’s Derby Party, which will feature live viewing of the Kentucky Derby, entertainment by Steve Simon & The New South Jazzmen, beer, wine, and signature mint juleps, champagne raffle, silent and live auctions and Derby inspired cuisine. As is tradition, JSL Summerville will continue the presentation of the John Tupper Award in recognition of outstanding community service and involvement.

The proceeds from this highly anticipated event will go to support and fund grants for our partner civic organizations.  In 2022, those partners include: Beyond Basic, Clap Your Hands, Doors to Freedom, Dorchester Children’s Advocacy Center, Dorchester County Community Outreach, Dorchester Habitat for Humanity, Dorchester PAWS, Flowertown Players, HELP of Summerville, Katie’s Krops, Magdalene House of Charleston, Meals on Wheels of Summerville, Public Works Art Center, Summerville Miracle League, Summerville Orchestra, Summerville YMCA, and The Ark of SC.
