Scarecrows are created by Businesses, Civic Groups, Individuals and Schools.  Remember to vote for your favorite Scarecrow! Votes are $0.25 each and will be collected at Guerin’s Pharmacy, Simple Treasures and Cuppa Manna Cafe. Voting runs from October 13-26. http://summervillejsl.s0006.devyour.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/JSL_GW_Logo_L-300x62.png The Junior Service League of Summerville’s annual Ghostwalk will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. All are invited to dress up in their best costumes and meet in Town Square for an evening of fall family fun! Ghostwalk features three guided tour options – G, PG, and PG-13 – to ensure a spooky time for guests of all ages. Advance tickets are $5 and $8 day-of-event. All tickets include access to all games and activities. Hayride tickets are sold separately for $4. The event is FREE for children 3 and under. 

Advanced tickets will be available for purchase starting October 1.
In addition to the guided tours, the event will feature entertainment, hayrides, carnival type game vendors and food truck vendors!

Christmas trees are created by Civic Groups, Schools, Businesses, and Individuals. All are invited to check out the creativity displayed in the heart of Summerville. Remember to vote for your favorite tree! Voting opens on December 14. Grab your Christmas pajamas and join the Junior Service League of Summerville as we host Jolly Old Saint Nicholas for our second annual PJs With Santa! The fun takes place on Short Central December 14th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Children will have the opportunity to whisper their wishes to Santa while parents capture the moment with their cameras. Ticket includes a visit with Santa and craft station to write letters to the North Pole. As we celebrate our 30th year, The Junior Service League of Summerville is pleased to announce our new signature fundraising event, The Derby Party. This annual event is planned for Saturday, May 2, 2020 in the Gardens of Historic Linwood Inn.

This beautiful Victorian Estate tucked away in Downtown Summerville will be the perfect backdrop for this year’s Derby Party, which will feature live viewing of the Kentucky Derby, entertainment by Steve Simon & The New South Jazzmen, open bar, champagne raffle, silent and live auctions and Derby inspired cuisine. As is tradition, JSL Summerville will continue the presentation of the John Tupper Award in recognition of outstanding community service and involvement.

The proceeds from this highly anticipated event will go to support and fund grants for our partner civic organizations.  In 2019 those partners include: Doors to Freedom, Dorchester Children’s Advocacy Center, Dorchester Habitat, Dorchester Museum, Dorchester PAWS, High School Injury Prevention Coalition, Katies Krops, Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc, Lowcountry Home of Hope, Meals on Wheels, Summerville Orchestra, Summerville YMCA, The Ark, The Flowertown Players, The Help, Vantage Point Foundation.
