The Junior Service League of Summerville was founded in 1988 by a group of extraordinary women with a passion for making Summerville shine! Since then, JSL has been at the heart of our community, sparking volunteerism, empowering women, and transforming Summerville for the better. Our members come from all walks of life, bringing diverse backgrounds, interests, and talents to the table. Together, we uncover the community’s hidden needs, build dynamic partnerships, and drive positive change.

For over thirty years, JSL has been dedicated to uplifting our community through hands-on volunteer work and spirited fundraising. Our members collectively volunteer over 4,000 hours annually, supporting a myriad of local nonprofit organizations. We raise money for these organizations and for Dorchester County District 2 and District 4 schools through our fun and festive events like Scarecrows on the Square, Christmas on the Square, PJs with Santa, Ghostwalk, and the fabulous Derby Party. Join us and be part of the excitement as we make a difference in Summerville!

The Junior Service League of Summerville does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of age*, race, color, religion, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.  Any acts of racism or discrimination are not and will not be tolerated by any member of this organization.  We are a non-profit organization of women, who support and empower each other to become leaders in our professional lives as well as in our community.  As an organization, we are committed to helping better our community through volunteerism and fundraising.
