The Junior Service League of Summerville was founded in 1988 by a group of extraordinary women who were interested in bettering Summerville. Since then, the JSL has played a pivotal role in promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the Summerville community. As an organization, we remain committed to serving our community!

Over the last thirty years, the JSL has committed to community projects and community organizations through volunteerism and fund-raising. The JSL, on average, volunteers over 4,000 hours a year to 21 different community organizations and raises funds through events such as Scarecrows on Square, Ghostwalk, and the John Tupper Golf Classic to support grants to community organizations.

JSL has been and will continue to be, an instrumental force for positive change in our community. Our members reflect a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and professional and personal pursuits. We work together to identify the community’s unmet needs, forge effective partnerships, and promote improvements.
